Among a highly saturated indie band culture, The Lowly Spects stands out for their refreshing and approachable sound, as well as their honest lyrics. Fronted by principal songwriter Ethan Hulse, the band has been a continuation of his solo project and EP “I Don’t Feel Simple,” released in 2011.
They have since quickly stolen the hearts of folk alternative fans in both Orange County and LA areas and become known for for great and memorable shows at popular venues such as The House of Blues, Detroit Bar, and The Observatory.
Band members Ethan Hulse, Tyler Johnson, and Trevor Kelso reside in Costa Mesa, CA, and draw from influences from artists like Wilco, Arcade Fire, and Elbow in creativity and writing. After being nominated for several Orange County Music Awards in 2012, as well as receiving many great write-ups from KROQ radio station and OC Weekly for shows, interviews, and album reviews, it’s safe to say that Lowly Spects are on their way to making some waves in America’s largest music market.
